On most professionally made DVDs, a viewer can select chapters from the DVD menu, which are locations from which the viewer can start playing the film. Likewise, in iMovie 6, the user can set chapter locations for the current project. These chapters, with the project, can be exported to iDVD 6 by selecting iDVD from the Share menu. The chapters will then be available on the DVD disc.

To add chapter markers for iDVD:
1. While in the timeline viewer, move the playhead to the frame where you want to start a new chapter.
2. Click the Chapters button to open up the iDVD Chapters pane.
3. Click Add Marker. The new chapter will appear in the first row of the iDVD Chapters Marker pane, along with the timecode, thumbnail of the first frame and the chapter title.
4. Double click on the chapter title, and type in the new name of the chapter.
Note: Chapter markers appear in the timeline viewer as diamonds.
5. Select File > Save Project when completed.

6. After the chapter markers are all created, select Share > iDVD. Click on the Share button, after making sure that the Share selected clips only checkbox is NOT selected. This will launch iDVD 6.

7. Once you have edited your DVD project in iDVD6. Click on the Burn DVD project to disk button to burn your project to a DVD.
Note: iDVD6 can use several different types of DVD Media. DVD-R (Best when wanting to playback on old DVD players), DVD+R, or DVD+RW (for 2 hour videos)
