Exporting for DVD Studio Pro from Final Cut Pro using Compressor

When exporting for DVD using Final Cut Pro's Compressor we want to export an MPEG 2 file to maximize compatibility, if you export in any other format then you will need to re-encode the file a second time in DVD Studio Pro.

To export from final cut pro make sure you have the timeline selected and click File > Export > Using Compressor.

Compressor will then automatically Load up with your sequence from FCP. We need to tell compressor what file format we want to export to. To do this click on the settings tab at the bottom left window. Then click the Drop Down arrow beside the folder named "DVD: Best Quality 90 minutes" Two files will be listed we want to select both of those files and drag them to the sequence above.

Both of those files will now be listed on the sequence, we need to still select where we want to files to go. To do this context click on either file by right clicking or holding down the control key while you left click the file. Now you will see a mini menu, listed in the menu is destinations. Beside Destinations you can choose where to save the file. Choose other to manually place the file. Repeat this step for both files.

After that is done you can simple click the submit button and wait for Compressor to Render the Files, once done the files will be ready for DVD Studio Pro.
