Digital Commons at Penn State

There will be times when you will require support from the Digital Commons team, during that time the Support Person may ask you to share your screen or desktop with them. This document will illustrate how to share your screen.

1) First Locate and double click the "Share My Computer" icon that is placed on the Desktop of the Digital Commons Computers.

2) A small window will pop up asking if you want to share your screen, click "Start Sharing"

3) Now another prompt will pop up asking if you are sure you want to share your screen, click "OK"

4) After that you will be asked to input a password, enter a simple password and tell the Digital Commons Support person what password you put in. (Warning: Do not use your passwords or any that you have previously used, make a new one up. You will NOT need to remember this password.)

5) Now a screen will come up telling you that Sharing is turned on, The Digital Commons Support person will need to know the "Host (IP)" address, read that number off to them now.
