In order to back up your Project File in Audacity you must first save it.

1) Click File > Save Project As in the file menu system

2) You will now be prompted to choose a save location and file name for your project

3) Now locate the project files that you just save (they will be in the directory you indicated in step 2)

4) Back up both the AUP file and _data directory in order to backup your project. Both of these will need backed up or your project will be lost.
