Information for Students

Borrowing Equipment
The Digital Commons at Penn State Berks offers digital video equipment that can be borrowed from the Thun Library. Most equipment is borrowed for 24-hours at a time on a first-come, first-serve basis. Flip video cameras can be signed out for three days. Ask about longer loans of digital video equipment over the weekend. Flip video cameras can be signed out for 3 days.

If you plan to borrow a green screen or lighting kit, it is helpful to give advance notice to a librarian to be sure the desired equipment will be available.

Return all equipment directly to the library service desk. Do not return equipment in the book drop.

Using the Editing Facilities
The Digital Commons in the Thun Library offers two Mac computers equipped with iMovie and Final Cut Pro for digital video editing, and Garage Band for audio editing. The computers are located in room 126 and the adjacent alcove.
